Q&A with Jake

What does working in care mean to you?

You’re never on your own and you’re never, ever bored. The residents are great and each have completely different personalities and stories to share. You create a bond with them.

What do you find challenging?

When a resident becomes ill or passes away, that can be hard as it adds pressure, but you’ve got to keep your work hat on and think about all the other residents too.

How are you making a difference to your community?

I’ve lived here all my life, and so have most of the residents and I like the fact that I’m helping people. I can make their time at the home as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
